This alga often appears on Fiji live rock after the reef aquarium becomes well-established. The plates grow rapidly, adding texture to the surface of the reef. Quarter-size plates may flake off during tank maintenance and land on a spot below the main "colony". Although this is not a "sellable" item, you may get the start of it, or a similar species, on quality cured live rock.
