8/9/2009. The Woodlands, TX. "Marty, I just wanted to send a quick note to express my thanks and satisfaction with the live rock order I purchased to set-up my new marine aquarium. The entire process was very pleasurable from the initial inquiry to receipt of the live rock. I originally placed an order for 150 Lbs. of live rock on July 29th to set-up a new 130 Gal. tank. The rock arrived as planned on August 4th and was immediately placed in the tank; the various sizes and quality of the individual pieces were great. After letting the rock settle for a few days, I placed a second order for an additional 75 Lbs of live rock on Wednesday, August 5th to supplement what was already in the tank. I really appreciate the fact that you were able to ship out the second shipment on short notice to accommodate my schedule. The second shipment arrived on Friday, August 7th as planned. Once again the quality and sizes of the individual pieces were impressive; there was practically no sediment when installing the rock and the protein skimmer was hardly affected by the addition of the live rock. The new tank is now complete and should be ready to receive fish in a few weeks. I would definitely recommend your company for anyone interested in purchasing (sight unseen) live rock. "Hi Marty, Last year when I received the live rock I ordered for my nano tank I was amazed at how much life was on the rock.  There was no die off nor ammonia spikes and they were ripe with many coralline colors.   So when I upgraded from a 45 gallon to a 90 gallon you were the first person I thought of.  Again I was not disappointed when I opened up the box.  The rocks were teeming with coralline algae and other beneficial marine life.  Because there was no need to cure the rock the transfer of my corals from my 45 gallon to my new 90 was immediate. The final shipment of the Fiji branch rock arrived Friday and it is very heavily Coralline encrusted as are several of the other pieces that arrived the week before. I've watched the nitrogen levels and there has been no spike at all as you promised. I plan to start removing the media from the trickle filter slowly over the next four weeks or so and get to relying solely on the live rock to complete the de-nitrification cycle and then start adding more fish. To all skeptical Aquarius out there I too was a bit skeptical, as nothing these days seem to do what the seller says they do. Well I can tell you firsthand that this rock is the real deal!! When I first talked to Marty and was told the price I said this is rather expensive and why should I pay double the price as others that are selling so called "cured rock". Well, as the saying goes you get what you pay for, and I'm completely satisfied with the product. I was worried because I had a Fish only tank that had large ( and very expensive ) angel Fish, purple tangs , etc., and I had developed a serious Nitrate problem. So I naturally was "scared" to put in rock that would possibly kill my fish that I'd raised from about 2" to approx. 8" (about 6 yrs).I figured I had two choices #1 Try Marty's rock, or #2 get rid of my fish. Quite naturally I elected to buy the rock and hope for the best. Well, its been 2 1/2 months now and My Tank is SPARKLING AND I NEVER HAD ONE SINGLE AMMONIA OR NITRITE SPIKE !! Well, my fears were completely unfounded! I placed the rock into the tank straight out of the FedEx box, and within minutes, my herbivores were grazing on the new rock! It's been about 1.5 wks since I added it and the tank looks great. There has been no ill-effects and best of all, no spike in ammonia!

I have to confess though, since it had been almost a month while we waited for the rock to cure, I had begun to get buyer's remorse and was worried about if I had made the right decision. Yesterday I picked up those eight boxes from the Fedex shop just down the road, brought them home and it was just like Christmas. The first box that I opened just happened to be one of the two boxes of branch rock. The first piece that I saw I thought "Wow! Here is the centerpiece." As it turned out I thought that about several other of the pieces too. I couldn't believe the size and outstanding quality of the rock, the embedded crustaceans and the tremendous colors. I had one question on lighting, I have a PC with 2 ,96 watt bulbs I have it running with just one of the bulbs right now. Should I ease into full lighting or just go ahead with the full lighting. The cardboard box had been saturated with water, and half of the rock was dry. The box had additional tape on it to hold it together. It was so bad that I asked the representative if the plane actually landed in Portland, or if they just shoved the box out of the cargo bay at 30K feet as they were passing overhead! They made note of the damage, so please demand a shipping refund. All in all the rock was fine. A few pieces were starting to smell, but I have not experienced anything more than a minor ammonia spike. I know that shipping is beyond your control, so thanks again for rock. Lots of purple coraline algae and, even though rock has been in water less than 2 hours, I already saw a shrimp or some sort of critter. The pieces are nicely encrusted in coralline algae, and the horizontal piece (about 15 pounds!) has been placed on top of several of the other large pieces--creating a brightly lit plateau with a wonderful "cave" below. The rock was packaged so well that it looks like it will need virtually no more cycling (very clean) and all of the large pieces arrived intact (no rubble!).
