How Do You Ship?

We ship livestock to any point in the continental United States by Federal Express Standard Overnight service. Livestock orders are packed in the late afternoon and leave Bakersfield, California via FedEx in the evening and will arrive by 3PM the next day (in remote areas it may be 4:30PM). This allows you to introduce animals to your system in less than 24 hours after they are packed, reducing the stress on them to a minimum.

Shipments are made so that delivery is made on a week day, unless you want a Saturday morning delivery, which costs more (Fedex Overnight Priority). If you are in the Greater Los Angeles area, we can ship by UPS Ground which is a next-day delivery, a little cheaper than Fedex.

Organisms are guaranteed to arrive in good condition provided they are picked up and placed in an acclimating situation within 2 hours after they arrive at their destination. We will give you instructions for receiving, inspecting, unpacking.
We always check the weather conditions between our place and your location in order to avoid shipping during a snow storm or other weather event that might cause a problem for air transport or ground delivery at the destination.

ORDERING

Minimum Orders

We do not have a minimum order for livestock or dry goods. However, it may be uneconomical to send a small package if you are a great distance from us, since the shipping costs could be more than the cost of the product. We will be glad to tell you what the costs would be before you place an order.

Method of Payment

Shipments may be pre-paid by money order, company check, Visa, Discover, or Master Card. If you use a credit card, DO NOT E-MAIL your number! We will take your number over the telephone when we write up your order.

Shipping Costs

This will depend on the method of shipping. We can provide Federal Express rates for all destinations, just call for information. Dry goods are shipped by the most economical ground shipper, unless you specify otherwise. If our supplier is closer to you than we are, we will have the merchandise shipped directly to you, reducing shipping costs.

Shipping and Handling Charges

Livestock shipping charges will include a box and handling charge, which includes heat or cold packs, depending on the weather conditions at the time of packing.
Dry goods orders will include a box and handling charge.

When we pack livestock orders we will call you to let you know and give you a tracking number so you can follow the progress of your shipment from the time it leaves Bakersfield (6:30PM) until it is loaded on the truck for delivery to your address.
