Brightly colored soft corals that are very difficult to keep. Although they are colored, they are asymbiotic, that is, the color does not come from zooxanthellae as in most other corals. Thus the species must be fed by hand, not an easy task, or feed on plankton in the water, if there is enough and the water circulation is right. The specimen shown is a small surviving part of a large colony put in the aquarium several months ago.
